Vigi Sklar (he/him/él), Licensed Professional Counselor
Vigi has openings for new clients.
Vigi is a therapist who believes that his clients are the experts of themselves, so he seeks to honor their lived experiences while finding greater agency when thoughts, emotions, and the body have been causing a sense of being stuck. Vigi especially likes to help clients explore gender and sexuality, process through the impacts of unresolved trauma, and develop a relationship with the many parts of self that influence our decision-making and emotions.
Vigi specializes in working with clients on trauma processing, C-PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, emotional dysregulation, difficulty expressing emotions, sexual abuse, relationship struggles, sexual compulsivity, and shame. He takes an integrative approach to therapy, primarily using a blend of EMDR, IFS informed therapy, and somatic-mindfulness when working with clients. He is fully trained in EMDR and has also completed an advanced EMDR training focused on C-PTSD and somatics. Additionally, he has trained with Dr. Richard Schwartz on the use of internal family systems therapy for trauma resolution.
Vigi’s practice focuses on working with queer, trans, and nonbinary adults; women; gay men; and cis-men who are willing to be vulnerable and able to acknowledge that they have work to do. Vigi identifies as a cisgender male who is also a white Latino.
