Sam Anderson (they/them), CSWA
Sam is a Clinical Social Work Associate who works with youth and adults in individual and group settings. They utilize a trauma-informed, relational lens which continues to nourish their understanding of systemic change and individual healing. They have over ten years of experience working with queer, trans, and nonbinary clients, and survivors of interpersonal and institutional violence. Sam is passionate about approaching wellness from an anti-oppressive lens and understanding the ways in which our lived experiences affect our access to care. Sam believes that intimacy, connection, and joy are central to liberation; and hopes to use their skills and lived experience to support folks in reclaiming their autonomy to live supported and embodied lives. Sam approaches collaboration through a balance of silliness and deep attunement. They have specific training in narrative exposure therapy and ecotherapy interventions, and pull from DBT and ACT in practice. In a past life, Sam worked in outdoor adventure programming and peer health education, facilitating harm reduction workshops and community programming around interpersonal violence prevention and substance use.
